About Us
Our history
Almost 40 years ago, in 1983, Celeste Blacio de Rendón, Sonia Rendón, and Patricia McTeague founded the non-profit organization "Fundación Nuevo Mundo" with a clear purpose: to transform lives through education. Since then, they have focused their efforts on providing educational support to children from low-income backgrounds, recognizing education as the path to break the cycle of poverty.
The foundation has implemented tutoring programs, offering support classes and activities that promote values such as solidarity and respect. Year after year, our children benefit from their unwavering dedication and the hard work of their team of professionals and volunteers.
Fundación Nuevo Mundo has been a beacon of hope for vulnerable families, providing them with educational opportunities and support in their personal development. Many of its beneficiaries have overcome obstacles and achieved unimaginable goals.
Today, we celebrate their dedication and legacy. The foundation will continue its mission, inspiring future generations to dream big and reach their full potential through education.

"I would like to give you some advice for excellent results: practice love and service to others without selfishness. Have confidence in yourselves to achieve the set goal. The higher the ideal, the greater the efforts needed to attain it. Remember the well-known saying that goes: 'You were born to be a lighthouse, don't settle for being a lantern.' And... may God bless you."

This pilgrimage that we are all called to do at some point in our lives goes from brain to heart. I think it is the most difficult because it takes a lifetime. For this reason, I do the pilgrimage every day. I don't mean to say we forget to think or analyze. The Lord's message is clear: "In this you shall know all my disciples, if they love one another." (John 13:35) And how do we do that? Stop thinking only of ourselves and be aware of our relationship with all of humanity... in working for all who, for different reasons, have not had the opportunities in education and formation that they deserve, in sharing the gifts that I have, and putting them at the service of those who need them the most. For this reason, I believe that collaboration in the FNM means learning to be a Christian, sharing with others to create a more just and equal world for all.

I have always felt I have been blessed by God. I had a loving family, great education, and I have met people who have led me in the direction of service to others. The opportunity to come to Ecuador was not accidental. I came, I met Celeste Blacio de Rendón, and I knew this was the role model I should follow to be of service to others less fortunate.
Celeste led me to use my education in the best way possible, not only for the needy, but also for those who would follow a good example to serve others. We founded the schools necessary to serve all levels of society. We are all God's children: Fundación Nuevo Mundo and Unidad Educativa Bilingüe Nuevo Mundo.
